AcqFilter was written under contract for a research group at Rhode Island Hospital (before I was hired by a different RIH department).
The project involved reading batches of files saved by the group's existing data-aquisition product, AcqKnowledge, finding and marking valid ECG cycles, combining all the cycles to form an average cycle (stretching or shrinking them to an average length as necessary), and performing a battery of statistical tests on the result.
The program is still in regular use, eight years later.
